The Mosaic Seal

A tamper-evident seal nobody can forge — not with special tools, not with patience. On arrival you check for yourself, in 5 seconds, whether your device was opened in transit.

The problem: the road between us and you

Verified Boot and the Titan-M2 protect your phone's software. But the most dangerous moment is the physical shipping route — the point where someone (a border, a transit warehouse, an "evil maid") intercepts the package, opens it, and tampers with the hardware before it reaches you. That is exactly what the Mosaic Seal is built against.

The idea: a random pattern that can't be rebuilt

Over the device or package seam we seal a small vacuum-sealed pouch with hundreds of coloured lentils (several colours, randomly mixed). The exact 3D arrangement of those lentils is pure randomness with enormous entropy — practically impossible to reproduce identically once opened. Any disturbance, any re-sealing, visibly shifts the pattern.

How it works

  1. We seal & photograph ZEROVacuum pouch with the lentil mosaic over the seam, then a high-resolution reference photo — right before shipping.
  2. Photo into your order link ZEROThe reference image lands in your private /order/<token> portal. Only you reach it with your token.
  3. You load the reference photo YOUOn arrival, before you open the package: load the reference image into the app (stored encrypted).
  4. You photograph the seal as received YOUA fresh photo of the mosaic in the exact state it reached you.
  5. The app "blinks" — your eye decides YOUBlink Comparison flips rapidly between both images. If the pattern is identical, "nothing" flickers. If it was opened, the difference jumps straight out at you.

The app: Blink Comparison

Open source, free, from F-Droid. It uses the strongest pattern recognition in the world — your eye. Reference images are stored encrypted (XChaCha20-Poly1305, key via Argon2), so no one can swap them.

Why it works

Price context: comparable providers charge far more for sealed shipping — Purism around ~€230 for their anti-interdiction bundle. At ZERO you pick the building blocks per device in the configurator (mosaic seal, device seal, encryption) — transparent instead of a black-box flat fee.

// This method is field-proven by the privacy community (among others proxysto.re, AnarSec). ZERO implements it with its own photo anchoring in the order portal. Questions? Message us via your chosen channel.
